How to choose the right surge protector for your needs?
Step 1: Choose your Modes of Protection.
- Spike Stopper® offers All Mode coverage and up to 4 modes of Discrete Protection. It is a great choice for most applications.
- For high lightning areas, or areas prone to active surge environments, choose Spike Stopper® Plus which offers All Mode coverage and up to 7 modes of Discrete Protection.
Surgestore.com offers a wide variety of industrial and commercial surge protective devices (SPDs). We offer industrial surge protectors for every common US voltage configuration, and you can choose the options you need for your application. While all our industrial and commercial products offer “All Mode” protection, our SPDs are available as the Spike Stopper® with discrete 4 Modes of protection or Spike Stopper® Plus with discrete 7 Modes of protection for 3 Phase Wye Systems.
Our Spike Stopper® Industrial Surge Protectors are available with your choice of surge current ratings (50kA, 100 kA, 150 kA or 200 kA). They’re compatible with UL 96A, NFPA 780 and LPI 175 lightning protection systems, and have an ANSI/UL 1449 safety rating.
Our Spike Stopper® Plus Industrial Surge Protectors are available with your choice of 100 kA, 200 kA, 300 kA or 400 kA surge current ratings. They’re compatible with UL 96A, NFPA 780 and LPI 175 lightning protection systems, and have an ANSI/UL 1449 safety rating.
Our industrial and commercial surge protectors are available with either a standard enclosure for indoor applications, or with an optional NEMA 4X watertight outdoor enclosure. Other options include Surge Eraser® Technology advanced filtering. Surge Eraser® Technology filter out ringing transients, those low-level, relatively weak surges caused by the normal operation of motors and drives within an industrial or commercial facility. While too weak to cause immediate damage, they cause cumulative damage to printed circuit boards. Elevators and copy machines are two diverse examples of equipment that cause ringing transients through normal operations with the facility.
Spike Stopper® and Spike Stopper® Plus options include audible alarms to notify you in the event of a SPD failure, and a surge counter for those who like to track the number of surges stopped by the surge protector.
